3rd CEO Forum in Sri Lanka on 5 January 2017

Sensitising the top management through CEO forums is a key strategy to mobilise companies for the METABUILD project. Accordingly, the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) Sri Lanka held its 3rd CEO forum at Salon Orchid - Galadari Hotel Colombo on 5 January 2017, from 5.30 to 8.30 pm.

This forum raised awareness for the METABUILD project and the benefits of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) among government officials, representatives from industry associations and companies. In total, 29 industry representatives participated in the forum.

Mr Markus Möller from Austria Recycling (Verein zur Förderung von Recycling und Umweltschutz in Österreich, AREC), Dr Thusitha Sugathapala from University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka, Mr Gamini Gunasekara (Chairman of NCPC) and Mr Samantha Kumarasena (CEO of NCPC) provided insights about the project through presentations and a panel discussion. Participants directed their questions on the project to the METABUILD team.

As an outcome of the forum, eight companies have signed the application form to express their interest in participating in the METABUILD project.
