On 7th July 2016, the METABUILD project team organised the Second CEO Forum at Hotel Galadari in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
One of the main objectives of the stakeholder meeting was to create awareness for the METABUILD project by briefing CEOs, management staff and other stakeholders of the project's target industries.
On 30 June 2016, the METABUILD project team organised a Management Commitment Seminar at the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BuCCI), in Butwal/ Rupandehi in the western development region of Nepal. The seminar was jointly hosted by the Society for Environmental and Economic Development Nepal (SEED Nepal) and BuCCI.

The event also designated the official launch of the METABUILD project in Sri Lanka by gathering all contributing stakeholders and allowing them to enhance their national and international networks.
On 19 June 2016, the METABUILD project team organised a Management Commitment Seminar at the Chamber of Industries (CIM) Morang/ Biratnagar in the eastern development region of Nepal. The seminar was jointly hosted by the Society for Environmental and Economic Development Nepal (SEED Nepal) and CIM.
On 13 – 16 June 2016 the METABUILD project organised a training-of-trainers (ToT) course at Hotel Shangri La in Kathmandu, Nepal. The meeting was hosted by SEED Nepal.
The meeting took place at Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) office and followed the Whole Person Process Facilitation (WPPF) approach. The 4-day meeting started with creating a common understanding about the project; the project purpose, values, vision and community were discussed. The project activities were planned in detail. Different metal sectors and locations were examined and promising options were identified in each country (Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka). An Action Plan was jointly prepared for implementation.
METABUILD is a 4-year project (2016-2020) supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme. This programme emphasizes sustainable consumption and production in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). METABUILD is targeted specifically at the metal industry in the construction sector in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. It aims to introduce resource efficiency practices and technologies that lead to improved environmental quality and combat pollution.
